Santanu Sengupta is a Board Leader, Strategic Advisor  and expert in  Responsible AI Governance, with over three decades of C-suite leadership experience across global financial institutions. His work sits at  the intersection of  Board Governance, Enterprise risk , Responsible AI ,cyber resilience, ESG stewardship & sustainability, and strategic transformation, helping Boards, founders and leadership teams strengthen governance oversight, navigate complexity, and build resilient, sustainable enterprises in an era of technological and geopolitical change.

Formerly Managing Director and APAC South Head at Wells Fargo Bank, Singapore, Santanu led cross-border businesses and diverse teams across multiple geographies while serving on the APAC Executive and Risk Committees. His leadership combined growth ambition with strong risk discipline, enabling scalable and sustainable growth across complex and highly regulated markets.

Today, Santanu serves on global advisory boards and as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing deep fiduciary, regulatory, and strategic insight shaped through three decades in global banking. He advises Boards and leadership teams on governance, strategic risk, Responsible AI oversight, cyber resilience, ESG priorities, and long-term value creation.

He also works with startups and emerging businesses on scaling, capital strategy, and governance frameworks that enhance institutional credibility and investor confidence.

An International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentialed Executive Coach, Santanu works selectively with CXOs and founders navigating leadership transitions, strategic inflection points, and enterprise complexity with clarity and conviction.

Santanu holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, and is a KPMG Certified Board Director, Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IOD) & Board Stewardship, Certified ESG Professional, and has completed executive studies in AI Ethics, Regulation and Compliance at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

He is widely recognised for his thought leadership on Responsible AI, AI in Finance, ESG & Sustainability, Leadership, and Risk & Resilience Strategy, and regularly contributes to leading publications and speaks at prestigious industry and governance forums.

Outside the boardroom, Santanu enjoys reading, music, yoga, and supports initiatives for underprivileged children.
